3D PRINTING: Octave Filament works with Solidoodle 3D printer

The Octave brand 1.75” ABS filament prints great on the Solidoodle 3d printers. The filament itself seems to flow very well on my machine with printable temp. ranges from 190 to 200. Above 200 the filament will be much softer and will sag over short distances. This can be an advantage though depending on what you’re printing. I must point out that the temps. I am stating are for the Solidoodle specifically as the temp. readings tend to be about 30 degrees lower than what the nozzle is actually at.
Since using Octave brand filament I have switched over to using Octave as my main supplier of filaments as their prices are extremely competitive, and the fact that they are local in my area I can pick up my order the same day at their facility.
I have not had a single clog that was caused by the filament being impure as some other filaments had done. Each spool also comes individually wrapped with some silica packets to absorb any moisture that may be present in the packaging.
If you are local I strongly recommend picking up your filament in person, so that you can get a chance to meet both Roy and Nick at the Campbell location. They are both great guys to talk to about 3D printing in general, and Nick, who actually operates a separate business, but is in the same building, has a several 3D printers in his shop that are awesome to check out. Actually, they also sell the Afinia brand 3D printer, and you’ll most likely see that printer at work whenever you go to visit them.
I highly recommend Octave brand filaments to any 3D printer owner.
